Fimcap
Fimcap[edit | edit source]
Fimcap is an international federation of Catholic parochial youth movements. It serves as a network for Catholic youth organizations around the world, promoting the exchange of ideas, experiences, and resources among its members. Fimcap stands for "Fédération Internationale des Mouvements Catholiques d'Action Paroissiale," which translates to the International Federation of Catholic Parochial Youth Movements.
History[edit | edit source]
Fimcap was founded in 1962 with the aim of fostering collaboration among Catholic youth movements globally. The organization was established to provide a platform for young Catholics to engage in social, cultural, and spiritual activities, and to promote the values of the Catholic Church.
Structure[edit | edit source]
Fimcap is composed of member organizations from various countries. Each member organization operates independently within its own country but collaborates with other members through Fimcap's international framework. The federation is governed by a General Assembly, which meets periodically to discuss and decide on the direction and policies of the organization.
Activities[edit | edit source]
Fimcap organizes a variety of activities for its members, including international camps, seminars, and workshops. These events are designed to encourage cultural exchange, leadership development, and spiritual growth among young people. Fimcap also supports its members in organizing local and national events that align with the federation's mission.
Mission and Values[edit | edit source]
The mission of Fimcap is to empower young people to become active participants in their communities and the wider world, guided by the principles of the Catholic faith. The organization emphasizes values such as solidarity, social justice, and respect for human dignity.
