Fimcap is an acronym that stands for the International Federation of Catholic Parochial Youth Movements. It is a global organization that brings together Catholic youth movements from various countries, fostering collaboration, exchange, and solidarity among young people.

Fimcap was founded in 1960 with the aim of uniting Catholic youth organizations across the world. The founding members recognized the need for a platform where young Catholics could share their experiences, challenges, and solutions in living out their faith in diverse cultural contexts.
Objectives[edit | edit source]
The primary objectives of Fimcap include:
- Promoting the spiritual, social, and personal development of young people.
- Encouraging active participation in the life of the Church and society.
- Fostering international solidarity and understanding among youth.
- Supporting member organizations in their mission to serve young people.
Structure[edit | edit source]
Fimcap operates through a network of member organizations, each representing a different country. The federation is governed by a General Assembly, which meets every three years to set the strategic direction and elect the Executive Board. The Executive Board is responsible for implementing the decisions of the General Assembly and managing the day-to-day affairs of the federation.

Fimcap has member organizations in over 30 countries, including:
- Katholische Jungschar in Austria
- Kiro in Belgium
- JECI-MIEC in various countries

Fimcap organizes a variety of activities to achieve its objectives, including:
- International camps and exchanges, where young people from different countries come together to learn from each other and build friendships.
- Training sessions and workshops on topics such as leadership, social justice, and environmental stewardship.
- Advocacy initiatives to promote the rights and well-being of young people at the local, national, and international levels.
