Firehouse Subs
Firehouse Subs[edit | edit source]
Firehouse Subs is a popular American fast-casual restaurant chain that specializes in submarine sandwiches. Founded in 1994 by brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, Firehouse Subs has grown to become one of the leading sandwich chains in the United States.
History[edit | edit source]
Firehouse Subs was established in Jacksonville, Florida, with the first restaurant opening its doors on October 10, 1994. The founders, Chris and Robin Sorensen, were former firefighters who aimed to create a restaurant that would pay homage to the brave men and women in the fire service.
Menu[edit | edit source]
Firehouse Subs offers a wide variety of delicious submarine sandwiches, made with high-quality ingredients. Some of their most popular sandwiches include:
- Hook & Ladder: This signature sandwich features smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, and melted Monterey Jack cheese, served "fully involved" with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a dill pickle spear on the side.
- Firehouse Meatball: A classic meatball sub made with Italian meatballs, melted provolone cheese, and zesty marinara sauce.
- Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket: Slow-smoked beef brisket topped with melted cheddar cheese, mayo, and Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce.
- Engineer: This vegetarian option includes sautéed bell peppers, sautéed onions, and melted Monterey Jack cheese, served "fully involved" with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a dill pickle spear on the side.
Firehouse Subs also offers a variety of salads, sides, and beverages to complement their sandwiches.
Community Involvement[edit | edit source]
As a brand founded by firefighters, Firehouse Subs is committed to giving back to the community. The company established the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation in 2005, which provides funding, lifesaving equipment, and educational opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations across the United States.
Locations[edit | edit source]
Firehouse Subs has a widespread presence with over 1,180 locations in 46 states, Puerto Rico, Canada, and non-traditional locations such as airports and military bases. The company continues to expand its footprint, bringing their delicious sandwiches to more communities.
