The fixed pulley is anchored in place, and the wheel only rotates around the axle. Advantages and Disadvantages[edit | edit source]

The primary advantage of a fixed pulley is its ability to change the direction of the applied force, making it easier to lift or pull heavy loads. It is also simple in design, easy to install, and requires minimal maintenance. However, the main disadvantage is that it does not provide a mechanical advantage in terms of reducing the force needed to lift a load, unlike movable pulleys or pulley systems.
