Wine Production

The vineyards of Flagey-Echézeaux are renowned for producing some of the world's most prestigious and expensive wines. The commune is home to two Grand Cru vineyards, Grands Echézeaux and Echézeaux. Echézeaux

The Echézeaux vineyard is larger than Grands Echézeaux, covering an area of 37.69 hectares. The wines from this vineyard are slightly less concentrated than those from Grands Echézeaux, but they are still highly regarded for their elegance and balance. They typically exhibit flavors of red cherry, raspberry, and spice, with a medium tannic structure and a long, elegant finish.
