Ford Gum

Ford Gum is a U.S. based company that specializes in the production and distribution of bubble gum and gumball machines. The company was founded in 1913 by Ford Mason, a businessman from Akron, Ohio.

Ford Mason started the company after purchasing a number of gumball machines from the Thomas Adams Gum Company. He placed these machines in various locations around Akron, Ohio, and the business quickly grew. In the early years, Ford Gum mainly focused on the production of gumballs and gumball machines, but over time, the company expanded its product line to include other types of confectionery products.

Ford Gum's product line includes a variety of bubble gum products, such as Big League Chew, Carousel gumball machines, and novelty candy products. The company also produces a line of sugar-free gum under the Smarties brand name.

Big League Chew[edit | edit source]

Big League Chew is a brand of bubble gum that is shredded and packaged in an aluminum foil pouch. It was created by Portland Mavericks left-handed pitcher Rob Nelson and bat boy Todd Field in 1980, and it is manufactured by Ford Gum.

Carousel Gumball Machines[edit | edit source]

The Carousel brand of gumball machines is a popular product line produced by Ford Gum. These machines are designed to be reminiscent of the classic gumball machines of the early 20th century.

Smarties Sugar-Free Gum[edit | edit source]

In partnership with the Smarties Candy Company, Ford Gum produces a line of sugar-free gum under the Smarties brand name. This gum is available in a variety of flavors, including original, tropical, and sour.
