Frankie Fraser

Frankie Fraser, also known as "Mad" Frankie Fraser, was a notorious English criminal and gang member. Born on 13 December 1923 in Lambeth, London, Fraser became infamous for his involvement in organized crime, particularly during the 1960s.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Fraser was born into a working-class family in Lambeth, London. He grew up during the Great Depression and turned to crime at an early age. By the time he was a teenager, he had already been involved in various petty crimes.

Criminal Career[edit | edit source]

Fraser's criminal career spanned several decades, and he was associated with some of the most notorious criminal gangs in London. He was a member of the Richardson Gang, led by Charlie Richardson and Eddie Richardson. The gang was known for its violent methods, including torture, to enforce its control over the criminal underworld.

Fraser was also linked to the Kray Twins, Ronnie Kray and Reggie Kray, who were prominent figures in London's organized crime scene during the 1950s and 1960s. Despite his associations, Fraser was known for his independent streak and often operated on his own terms.

Imprisonment[edit | edit source]

Throughout his life, Fraser was imprisoned on numerous occasions. He spent a total of 42 years in prison for various offenses, including armed robbery, assault, and murder. His time in prison did little to reform him, and he remained a feared figure both inside and outside the prison walls.

Later Life and Death[edit | edit source]

In his later years, Fraser became something of a celebrity, appearing in documentaries and writing his autobiography. He was often interviewed about his criminal past and the changing nature of organized crime in London. Fraser passed away on 26 November 2014 at the age of 90.

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Frankie Fraser remains a controversial figure in British criminal history. While some view him as a ruthless criminal, others see him as a product of his environment and the harsh economic conditions of his youth.
