French Navy

The French Navy, officially known as the Marine Nationale, is the maritime arm of the French Armed Forces. It is one of the world's oldest naval forces, having its origins in the early 17th century under the reign of King Louis XIII. History

The history of the French Navy dates back to 1624, when the first true French naval force was established by Cardinal Richelieu, the Chief Minister to King Louis XIII. Organization

The French Navy is headed by the Chief of Staff of the French Navy, who is responsible for the operational readiness and strategic planning of the naval forces. The Navy is structured into various components, including the Surface Fleet, the Submarine Forces, the Naval Aviation, and the Maritime Force Protection and Intervention.
