Freweini Mebrahtu (born 1970) is an Ethiopian inventor and entrepreneur known for her significant contributions to menstrual health management in Africa. Freweini Mebrahtu was born in Ethiopia in 1970. She pursued her higher education in the United States, where she studied chemical engineering at Prairie View A&M University in Texas. Her education provided her with the technical skills and knowledge that would later be instrumental in her entrepreneurial ventures.

After completing her studies, Mebrahtu returned to Ethiopia with a vision to address the challenges faced by women and girls in managing their menstrual health. In 2005, she founded the Mariam Seba Sanitary Products Factory, named after her daughter.
