Fritz Maytag (born August 9, 1937) is an American brewer and businessman. He is best known for his role in reviving the Anchor Brewing Company and pioneering the craft beer movement in the United States.

Maytag was born on August 9, 1937, in Newton, Iowa. He is the great-grandson of Frederick Louis Maytag I, the founder of the Maytag Corporation. Maytag attended Stanford University, where he earned a degree in American history.

After graduating from Stanford, Maytag initially worked for his family's appliance business. However, he soon developed an interest in brewing and decided to pursue a career in the beer industry. In 1965, he purchased a majority stake in the struggling Anchor Brewing Company, which was on the verge of bankruptcy.

Under Maytag's leadership, Anchor Brewing Company underwent a significant transformation. He invested in modern equipment and implemented quality control measures to improve the brewery's operations. Maytag also introduced new beer styles and revived traditional brewing techniques, which helped differentiate Anchor's beers from mass-produced lagers.

Maytag's efforts to revive Anchor Brewing Company and promote craft beer gained recognition and popularity. Anchor Steam Beer, one of the brewery's flagship beers, became a symbol of the craft beer movement in the United States.
