Garfield County is a county located in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2010 census, the population was 5,172, making it the fifth-least populous county in Utah. Its county seat and largest city is Panguitch.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Garfield County is located in the Colorado Plateau region of Utah. The county's eastern border is defined by the Green River, which separates it from San Juan County. The western border is defined by the Sevier River.
History[edit | edit source]
Garfield County was established in 1882. It was named for James A. Garfield, the 20th President of the United States, who had been assassinated the previous year.
