GlenWyvis distillery

GlenWyvis Distillery is a community benefit society based distillery located in Dingwall, Scotland. It is known for being the first 100% community-owned distillery in the world. The distillery produces a variety of Scottish whisky and gin products.

GlenWyvis Distillery was established in 2015 by local entrepreneur and flying farmer, John McKenzie. The distillery was named after two former distilleries in the area, the Glenskiach and Ben Wyvis/Ferintosh. The distillery was funded through a community shares scheme, which raised over £2.5 million from more than 2,600 investors.

GlenWyvis Distillery uses locally sourced barley for its whisky production. The distillery also uses a combination of traditional and modern distilling techniques. The distillery's gin production uses nine botanicals, including locally picked hawthorn.

Community Ownership[edit | edit source]

As a community-owned distillery, GlenWyvis is committed to benefiting the local community. Profits from the distillery are reinvested back into community projects. The distillery also aims to promote local tourism and create jobs in the area.

GlenWyvis produces a range of products including single malt whisky and craft gin. The distillery's flagship product is the GlenWyvis GoodWill Gin, which is known for its unique blend of botanicals.
