Glenside Hospital (Adelaide)

Glenside Hospital (Adelaide) is a psychiatric hospital located in Adelaide, South Australia. It was originally known as Parkside Lunatic Asylum and later as Parkside Mental Hospital. The hospital provides a range of mental health services, including inpatient, outpatient, and community-based services.

Glenside Hospital was established in 1870 as the Parkside Lunatic Asylum. It was the second mental hospital in South Australia, following the Royal Adelaide Hospital. The hospital was designed by architect Edward John Woods and was built on a 40-acre site. The hospital was renamed Parkside Mental Hospital in 1913 and then Glenside Hospital in 1967.

Glenside Hospital provides a range of mental health services, including acute care, rehabilitation, forensic psychiatry, and community mental health services. The hospital also provides services for people with drug and alcohol addiction and homeless people with mental health issues.
