Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an NHS foundation trust that operates Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital in Gloucestershire, England. It serves western and southern Gloucestershire as well as parts of Herefordshire. The trust is led by chair Peter Lachecki and chief executive Deborah Lee.

History[edit | edit source]

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2002 through the merger of Gloucestershire Royal and East Gloucestershire NHS Trusts. It provides acute hospital services from two general hospital sites in Gloucester and Cheltenham, as well as maternity services from Stroud General Hospital. With an annual operating income of £550 million, the trust has 960 beds and handles over 150,000 emergency attendances and 800,000 outpatient appointments each year. It employs around 8,000 people and provides care for the population of Gloucestershire and beyond.

In 2017, the trust explored the establishment of a subsidiary company. This led to the creation of Gloucestershire Hospitals Subsidiary Company (trading as Gloucestershire Managed Services) in February 2018.
