Gonabad
Gonabad is a city in the Razavi Khorasan Province of Iran. It is known for its historic hydraulic system, the Gonabad Qanat, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Gonabad is believed to have been founded in the 7th century AD, although archaeological evidence suggests that the area has been inhabited for at least 1,500 years. The city's historic hydraulic system, the Gonabad Qanat, is thought to be between 2,700 and 3,000 years old, making it one of the oldest known qanats in Iran.

Gonabad is located in the northeastern part of Iran, in the Razavi Khorasan Province. The city is situated in a desert region and is surrounded by mountains.

The economy of Gonabad is primarily based on agriculture, with the city's farmers growing a variety of crops including wheat, barley, cotton, and saffron. The city is also known for its production of hand-woven carpets.
