- Grainger County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2010 census, the population was 22,657. Its county seat is Rutledge, and it is part of the Knoxville Metropolitan Statistical Area.

- Grainger County is located in the northeastern part of Tennessee, bordered by Union, Claiborne, Hawkins, Hamblen, Jefferson, and Knox counties. The county's geography is characterized by the Clinch Mountain range and the Cherokee Lake.

- Grainger County was formed in 1796 from parts of Knox and Hawkins counties. It was named for Mary Grainger Blount, wife of William Blount, the territorial governor of the Southwest Territory.
