Granada is a city located in the autonomous community of Andalusia, in the south of Spain. It is known for its rich history, diverse culture, and the Alhambra, a Moorish citadel and palace.

Granada has a rich and diverse history. It was originally known as Ilbyr when it was founded by the native Iberians. Later, it was known as Illiberis after the Romans conquered the city. In the 8th century, it became the capital of a province of the Caliphate of Cordoba. The greatest period of Granada's history was during the Nasrid dynasty, when it became the last Muslim state in Spain. The city was finally conquered by the Catholic Monarchs in 1492.

Granada is known for its unique culture, which is a blend of its Moorish past and Spanish traditions. The city is famous for its flamenco shows, tapas bars, and the Alhambra, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Granada is also home to the University of Granada, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Spain.
