Early Life and Career[edit | edit source]
Greg Norton was born on March 13, 1959, in Rock Island, Illinois, United States. He developed an interest in music at a young age and started playing bass guitar in his teenage years. In 1979, Norton co-founded the band Hüsker Dü along with Bob Mould and Grant Hart.
Hüsker Dü gained popularity in the 1980s with their energetic and melodic punk rock sound. Norton's bass playing provided a solid foundation for the band's music, while his vocal contributions added depth to their songs. The band released several critically acclaimed albums, including Zen Arcade (1984) and New Day Rising (1985).
After Hüsker Dü disbanded in 1988, Norton went on to form the band Nova Mob. Nova Mob released two albums before disbanding in 1997. Norton later joined the band Gang Font, which released their debut album in 2010.
