Gruppo Campari was founded in 1860 by Gaspare Campari in Milan, Italy. Gaspare was a master drink maker who invented the recipe for the famous Campari bitter, which is still in use today. The company was initially a small wine and spirits shop, but it quickly grew into a successful business.
In the 20th century, the company expanded internationally, establishing a presence in key markets around the world. Today, Gruppo Campari owns 18 plants worldwide and has its own distribution network in 19 countries.
