Gruppo Campari was founded in 1860 by Gaspare Campari in Milan, Italy. Gaspare was a master drink maker who invented the recipe for the famous Campari bitter, which is still in use today. The company was initially a small wine and spirits shop, but it quickly grew into a successful business.
