Guiyang (Chinese: 贵阳; pinyin: Guìyáng ) is the capital of Guizhou Province in Southwest China. It is a prefecture-level city located on the eastern side of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, and it serves as the political, economic, cultural, and transportation center of Guizhou.

Guiyang has a rich history that dates back to the Ming dynasty, when it was established as a military outpost. The city has since evolved into a major urban center. During the Qing dynasty, Guiyang became an important administrative and commercial hub. In the 20th century, the city experienced rapid industrialization and urbanization, particularly after the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949.

Guiyang is situated at an elevation of about 1,100 meters (3,600 feet) above sea level, which gives it a mild and humid subtropical climate.
