A Health Care Provider (HCP) is an individual or an institution that provides preventive, curative, promotional, rehabilitative or palliative care services in a systematic way to individuals, families or communities. - Primary Care Provider (PCP): This is usually a patient's main health care provider and often a general practitioner or family physician. They provide a broad range of health services and are usually the first point of contact for a patient.
- Specialist: These are doctors who have completed advanced education and clinical training in a specific area of medicine.
- Nurse Practitioner (NP): NPs are registered nurses who have advanced training and can often provide the same services as a primary care provider.
- Physician Assistant (PA): PAs are medical professionals who are licensed to diagnose and treat illness and disease and to prescribe medication for patients.
- Pharmacist: Pharmacists are health professionals who practice in pharmacy, the field of health sciences focusing on safe and effective medication use.
