Hampton
Hampton is a town located in the United Kingdom, specifically in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It is situated on the north bank of the River Thames and is notable for its rich history and various landmarks, including Hampton Court Palace, Bushy Park, and the Hampton Heated Open Air Pool.

Hampton's history dates back to the Anglo-Saxon period. The name "Hampton" is believed to have originated from the term "Hamm-tun", which translates to "farmstead or settlement by the water". The town was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it was referred to as "Hantone".

Hampton Court Palace[edit | edit source]
Hampton Court Palace is a royal palace that was originally built for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey in the early 16th century. It was later taken over by King Henry VIII who expanded it. Today, the palace is open to the public and is managed by the independent charity, Historic Royal Palaces.
Bushy Park[edit | edit source]
Bushy Park is the second largest of London's Royal Parks. It is home to a number of plant and animal species, and features various amenities including sports facilities and playgrounds.
Hampton Heated Open Air Pool[edit | edit source]
The Hampton Heated Open Air Pool is one of the few remaining open air pools in London. It is heated throughout the year and is a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
Transport[edit | edit source]
Hampton is served by Hampton railway station, which provides regular train services to London Waterloo station. There are also several bus routes that pass through the town.

There are several schools in Hampton, including Hampton School, an independent boys' school, and Lady Eleanor Holles School, an independent girls' school.
