From WikiMD's Wellnesspedia

Hasnat Ahmad Khan, FRCS (Urdu: حسنات احمد خان; born 1 April 1958) is a British-Pakistani heart and lung surgeon. He gained widespread public attention for his romantic relationship with Diana, Princess of Wales from 1995 to 1997.

Early life and education[edit | edit source]

Hasnat Khan was born on 1 April 1958 in Jhelum, Pakistan. He moved to the United Kingdom in the 1980s, where he pursued his medical education. Khan graduated from the Imperial College London and completed his surgical training in heart and lung surgery at the Royal Brompton Hospital and Harefield Hospital.

Medical career[edit | edit source]

Khan is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) and specializes in heart and lung surgery. Over the course of his career, he has worked at various hospitals in the United Kingdom, including the Royal Brompton Hospital, Harefield Hospital, and London Chest Hospital.

Relationship with Princess Diana[edit | edit source]

Khan's relationship with Diana, Princess of Wales, began in 1995 and lasted until 1997. They met while Khan was working at the Royal Brompton Hospital, where Diana visited a friend recovering from heart surgery. Their relationship remained relatively private, with few details known to the public until after Diana's death in 1997. Khan was dubbed "the love of her life" by some of Diana's close friends, and she reportedly considered converting to Islam and moving to Pakistan to be with him. However, the couple eventually ended their relationship, with some speculating that the intense media scrutiny and cultural differences played a part in their decision.

Personal life[edit | edit source]

Khan has maintained a low profile since his relationship with Princess Diana ended. He married Hadia Sher Ali, a Pakistani woman from an aristocratic family, in 2006, but the couple divorced two years later. Khan continues to practice medicine and remains dedicated to his career as a heart and lung surgeon.
