Heidi Suzanne Cruz (née Nelson; born August 7, 1972) is an American businesswoman. She is currently a managing director at Goldman Sachs, a global investment banking, securities, and investment management firm. She is also known for being the wife of Ted Cruz, the junior United States Senator from Texas.
Early life and education[edit | edit source]
Heidi Cruz was born in San Luis Obispo, California. She grew up in a Seventh-day Adventist family and spent part of her childhood in Africa where her parents were missionaries. She attended Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Relations. She also studied at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management in Brussels, Belgium, where she received a Master of Arts in European Business.

Heidi Cruz began her career in the investment banking industry. She worked for J.P. Morgan in New York City before joining Goldman Sachs in 2005. At Goldman Sachs, she has held various positions and is currently a managing director in the Investment Management Division.
Political involvement[edit | edit source]
Heidi Cruz has been actively involved in her husband's political career. She took a leave of absence from her position at Goldman Sachs to support Ted Cruz's campaign during the 2016 United States presidential election. She played a significant role in his campaign, focusing on outreach and fundraising efforts.
Personal life[edit | edit source]
Heidi Cruz married Ted Cruz in 2001. The couple has two daughters. They reside in Houston, Texas.
