Henry Goodeve


Henry Goodeve (1802–1860) was a prominent British physician and medical educator in the 19th century. He is best known for his contributions to the field of medicine and his work in India, where he served as the Superintendent of Medical Education.

Goodeve was born in 1802 in England. He received his medical education at the University of Edinburgh, one of the leading medical schools in the world at the time. After completing his studies, he returned to England and began his medical practice.

In 1834, Goodeve was appointed as the Superintendent of Medical Education in India. During his tenure, he made significant contributions to the development of medical education in the country.
