Hitchcock County, Nebraska[edit | edit source]

Hitchcock County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,908. Its county seat is Trenton. The county was formed in 1873 and named after Phineas Warren Hitchcock, a senator from Nebraska.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Hitchcock County is located in the southwestern part of Nebraska, with its southern boundary on the Kansas-Nebraska border. The county has a total area of 718 square miles, of which 716 square miles is land and 2.0 square miles is water.

As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 2,908 people, 1,229 households, and 830 families residing in the county.
