The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) (Chinese: 香港理工大學 ) is a public university located in Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is one of the eight government-funded degree-granting tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. PolyU offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs and is known for its research and innovation.

PolyU was established in 1937 as the Government Trade School. It underwent several transformations, becoming the Hong Kong Technical College in 1947 and later the Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1972. It gained full university status in 1994 and was renamed the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
