IDF field hospital for Gazans

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

The IDF field hospital for Gazans was established by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) at Erez Crossing on July 20, 2014. Its purpose was to provide medical care for sick and injured Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. The decision to set up the hospital was made in response to reports of a severe shortage of medical facilities in Gaza during the 2014 Israel-Gaza conflict.

The hospital was recommended by General Yoav Mordechai, the coordinator of government activities in the Palestinian territories, and approved by IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz. Israeli soldiers at Erez Crossing encouraged families to bring their relatives to the field hospital for treatment instead of traveling to a Palestinian-run hospital in East Jerusalem.

The establishment of the IDF field hospital aimed to alleviate the strain on medical resources in Gaza and provide essential healthcare services to the affected population.
