Ilarion Ciobanu

Ilarion Ciobanu (28 October 1931 – 7 September 2008) was a renowned Romanian actor, celebrated for his versatile roles in film and theatre. Born in Ciucur, Tighina County (now in Moldova), Ciobanu's acting career spanned over five decades, during which he became one of the most beloved figures in Romanian cinema.

Ilarion Ciobanu was born into a modest family in the small village of Ciucur. He initially pursued studies in forestry at the University of Suceava, but his passion for acting led him to the Institute of Theatre and Film Arts in Bucharest, where he graduated in 1957.
