The Indo-Iranians are a branch of the larger Indo-European language family. They are historically significant for their contributions to the cultural and linguistic development of the regions they inhabited, which include parts of modern-day Iran, India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

The Indo-Iranians are believed to have originated in the Eurasian Steppe around the 2nd millennium BCE. They are divided into two main groups: the Indo-Aryans and the Iranian peoples.
