Intermountain Healthcare

Intermountain Healthcare is a not-for-profit healthcare system and the largest healthcare provider in the Intermountain West region of the United States. It was founded on September 24, 1970, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Intermountain Healthcare operates 225 clinics and 25 hospitals in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and other areas. It offers a wide range of ambulatory and acute health services, as well as integrated managed care through its insurance brand, "SelectHealth.


" The organization is headquartered in Salt Lake City and has over 59,000 employees.

In April 2022, Intermountain Healthcare completed a merger with Colorado-based SCL Health, creating a combined system with over 58,000 employees and 33 hospitals. The merger further strengthens Intermountain Healthcare's presence and capabilities in providing quality healthcare services to the communities it serves.

Intermountain Healthcare was originally established when The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated fifteen hospitals to the intermountain community on April 1, 1975. Since then, it has grown to become a leading healthcare system known for its commitment to patient care and innovation.
