International Association of National Public Health Institutes[edit | edit source]

The International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) is a global network of national public health institutes (NPHIs) that aims to improve public health capacity and capabilities by strengthening NPHIs worldwide. IANPHI provides a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and advocacy among its member institutes.

IANPHI was established in 2006 with the goal of enhancing the effectiveness of national public health institutes. The association was founded with support from the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Since its inception, IANPHI has grown to include over 100 member institutes from around the world.

Mission and Objectives[edit | edit source]

The mission of IANPHI is to build and strengthen national public health institutes to improve public health outcomes globally. Its objectives include:

  • Supporting the development and strengthening of NPHIs.
  • Facilitating collaboration and information sharing among member institutes.
  • Advocating for the role of NPHIs in national and global public health.
  • Providing technical assistance and capacity building to member institutes.

IANPHI is governed by an Executive Board composed of representatives from member institutes. The board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the association and overseeing its activities. The day-to-day operations of IANPHI are managed by a Secretariat.

IANPHI has played a significant role in strengthening public health systems around the world. By fostering collaboration and providing technical support, IANPHI has helped member institutes to respond more effectively to public health challenges, including infectious disease outbreaks and chronic disease prevention.
