International Food Policy Research Institute
International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is a global research institute established in 1975 with a focus on identifying and analyzing policies for meeting the food needs of the developing world. IFPRI conducts research, communicates results, and influences policymaking to reduce poverty, hunger, and malnutrition worldwide. It is one of the 15 centers supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), an international consortium of organizations pursuing food security, environmental conservation, and poverty reduction.

Its work has influenced international policies on food pricing, trade, and agricultural development, contributing to increased food security and reduced poverty in many developing countries.
Publications and Resources[edit | edit source]
IFPRI disseminates its findings through a variety of publications, including research reports, policy briefs, discussion papers, and its flagship annual report, the Global Food Policy Report. These publications serve as valuable resources for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners in the field of food and nutrition security.
Collaborations[edit | edit source]
The Institute collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders, including national governments, international organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the private sector. These collaborations help to ensure that IFPRI's research is relevant and that its recommendations are implemented to achieve maximum impact.
Challenges and Future Directions[edit | edit source]
Despite significant progress in reducing hunger and malnutrition, global challenges such as climate change, conflict, and economic instability continue to threaten food security.
