Fanta[edit | edit source]
Fanta is a fruit-flavored carbonated soft drink brand owned by The Coca-Cola Company. Originally created in Germany in 1940, Fanta is now available in over 100 flavors worldwide, with orange being the most popular.
History[edit | edit source]
Fanta was created in Germany during World War II due to difficulties in importing Coca-Cola syrup into the country. Max Keith, the head of Coca-Cola Germany, developed a new soft drink using available ingredients, such as whey and apple pomace. The name "Fanta" was derived from the German word "Fantasie," meaning imagination. After the war, Fanta production was discontinued in Germany but later relaunched by The Coca-Cola Company in 1955 to compete with Pepsi's fruit-flavored soft drinks.
Flavors[edit | edit source]
Fanta is available in a wide variety of fruit flavors, with orange being the most popular. Other common flavors include:
- Grape
- Strawberry
- Pineapple
- Lemon
- Apple
In addition, Fanta offers region-specific flavors, such as Fanta Melon in Japan and Fanta Kolita in Costa Rica.
Advertising and Marketing[edit | edit source]
Fanta has employed various advertising campaigns and slogans throughout its history, such as "Wanta Fanta?" and "More Fanta, Less Serious." Fanta also sponsors events and partners with other brands to promote its products.
