Jabez Hogg (1817 – 1899) was a prominent English physician, ophthalmic surgeon, and pioneering photographer. He was known for his contributions to the field of ophthalmology and for his involvement in the early development of photography.

Jabez Hogg was born in Chatham, Kent, in 1817. He was educated at local schools before pursuing a career in medicine. Hogg trained at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, where he developed a keen interest in ophthalmology, the branch of medicine dealing with the anatomy, physiology, and diseases of the eye.
