Jefferson is a village located in the Ashtabula County, Ohio, United States. It is the county seat of Ashtabula County and is known for its rich history and small-town charm. The village is named after Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States.

Jefferson was laid out in 1803 by Gideon Granger, who later served as Postmaster General under President Thomas Jefferson. The village was incorporated in 1836.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Jefferson is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and State Route 46. The village is approximately 10 miles south of Lake Erie and 60 miles east of Cleveland.
