John Tidwell (basketball)
John Tidwell (born May 11, 1940) is a former American basketball player who played for the University of Michigan during the late 1950s and early 1960s. He is known for his scoring prowess and contributions to the Michigan Wolverines basketball program.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
John Tidwell was born in Harlan, Kentucky. He attended Harlan High School, where he excelled in basketball and earned a reputation as one of the top high school players in the state.
College Career[edit | edit source]
Tidwell played for the Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team from 1958 to 1961. During his time at Michigan, he was a standout player and set several school records. He was known for his scoring ability and was a key player for the Wolverines.
Freshman Year[edit | edit source]
In his freshman year, Tidwell made an immediate impact on the team. He quickly became one of the leading scorers and helped the Wolverines to several key victories.
Sophomore Year[edit | edit source]
As a sophomore, Tidwell continued to improve and became one of the top players in the Big Ten Conference. He was known for his ability to score from anywhere on the court and was a consistent performer for the Wolverines.
