Jonathan Bird
Jonathan Bird is an American television producer, underwater cinematographer, and author known for his work in oceanography and marine biology. He is the founder of the Oceanic Research Group, a non-profit environmental organization, and the host of the Emmy Award-winning television series, "Jonathan Bird's Blue World."
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Jonathan Bird was born and raised in the United States. He developed an interest in marine life and scuba diving at a young age. He pursued his passion for the ocean by studying Ocean Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Career[edit | edit source]
After graduating from MIT, Bird worked as an engineer before transitioning into underwater cinematography. He has filmed and produced a variety of underwater documentaries, showcasing the beauty and diversity of marine life. His work has been featured on networks such as National Geographic Channel and Discovery Channel.
In 1990, Bird founded the Oceanic Research Group, a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of marine environments. Through this organization, he has conducted numerous research expeditions and educational programs.
In 2008, Bird launched the television series "Jonathan Bird's Blue World." The show, which explores underwater environments and marine life, has won multiple Emmy Awards.

Bird has authored several books on underwater photography and marine biology. His works include "Beneath the North Atlantic," a photographic journey through underwater ecosystems, and "Adventures with Sharks," a book detailing his experiences with various species of sharks.
