Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Julio Gallo was born on March 21, 1923, in Oakdale, California. He was the son of Italian immigrants, Joseph Gallo and Assunta Bianco Gallo. Growing up in a family of winemakers, Julio developed a passion for the wine industry from a young age.
Julio attended local schools in Oakdale and later pursued his higher education at the University of California, Berkeley. He graduated with a degree in viticulture and enology, which laid the foundation for his future success in the wine business.
