Kaspar Stanggassinger (12 January 1871 – 26 September 1899) was a Roman Catholic priest and member of the Redemptorists, a Catholic religious order dedicated to missionary work. He is celebrated for his deep spirituality, commitment to the education of youth, and his efforts to form a community life that was deeply rooted in the love of Christ. Despite his short life, Stanggassinger left a significant impact on the Redemptorist community and is venerated as a Blessed in the Catholic Church.

Kaspar Stanggassinger was born in Berchtesgaden, Bavaria, Germany, into a devout Catholic family. Stanggassinger entered the seminary at the age of 18, where he excelled in his studies and deepened his spiritual life. He was particularly drawn to the Redemptorists, a religious congregation founded by Saint Alphonsus Liguori, and he joined them shortly after his ordination to the priesthood. His work as a Redemptorist was characterized by a passionate commitment to the education and spiritual formation of young men studying for the priesthood. He believed strongly in the importance of community life and sought to instill this value in his students.

In 1892, Stanggassinger was instrumental in establishing a seminary in Gars am Inn, Bavaria, which became a center for the formation of future Redemptorist priests. Tragically, Kaspar Stanggassinger's life was cut short when he died of peritonitis at the age of 28. His death was a great loss to the Redemptorist community and to all who knew him.
