Kazimierza County
Kazimierza County is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship, south-central Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is Kazimierza Wielka, which lies 71 kilometres (44 mi) south of the regional capital Kielce. The county also contains the towns of Skalbmierz, lying 5 km (3 mi) west of Kazimierza Wielka, and Bejsce, 8 km (5 mi) east of Kazimierza Wielka.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Kazimierza County is bordered by Proszowice County to the west, Pińczów County to the north, Busko County to the east, and Dąbrowa County to the south. The county covers an area of 322.11 square kilometres (124.4 sq mi).

The county is subdivided into six gminas (one urban-rural and five rural). These are listed in the following table, in descending order of population.

Economy[edit | edit source]
The economy of Kazimierza County is primarily based on agriculture, with the main crops being cereals, potatoes, and vegetables. There is also a significant amount of livestock farming, particularly of cattle and pigs. The county has a small industrial sector, focused mainly on food processing, furniture manufacturing, and construction materials production.
Culture[edit | edit source]
Kazimierza County is rich in cultural heritage, with numerous historical monuments and sites. These include the 14th-century Kazimierza Wielka Castle, the 16th-century Skalbmierz Church, and the 19th-century Bejsce Manor House.
