King Soopers is a supermarket brand of Kroger located primarily in the Rocky Mountains of the United States. It operates stores in Colorado and Wyoming.

King Soopers was founded in 1947 by Lloyd J. King and his family in Arvada, Colorado. The name "King Soopers" was chosen to convey the idea of a "super" market. The chain quickly expanded throughout the Denver metropolitan area and beyond.

In 1983, King Soopers became a part of the Kroger Company, one of the largest supermarket chains in the United States. This acquisition allowed King Soopers to benefit from Kroger's extensive resources and distribution networks.
