==Early Life==
Christopher Catesby Harington, known professionally as Kit Harington, was born on December 26, 1986, in Acton, London, England. He is the son of Deborah Jane Catesby, a former playwright, and Sir David Richard Harington, 15th Baronet. Kit Harington attended the Southfield Primary School from 1992 to 1998. He later attended the Chantry High School in Martley until 2003. Harington developed an interest in acting after watching a production of "Waiting for Godot" when he was 14 years old.

Harington studied Drama and Theatre at Worcester Sixth Form College from 2003 to 2005. He then attended the Central School of Speech and Drama, a constituent of the University of London, where he graduated in 2008.

Theatre[edit | edit source]
Harington's professional acting career began in the theatre. He landed his first major role as Albert Narracott in the National Theatre's adaptation of "War Horse". The play was a critical and commercial success, and Harington's performance was well received.
Television[edit | edit source]
Harington rose to international fame with his role as Jon Snow in the HBO television series "Game of Thrones", which aired from 2011 to 2019. His portrayal of Jon Snow, a character of noble birth raised as a bastard, earned him critical acclaim and several award nominations.
Film[edit | edit source]
In addition to his television work, Harington has appeared in several films. His film debut was in "Silent Hill: Revelation 3D" (2012). He also starred in "Pompeii" (2014), "Testament of Youth" (2014), and "Spooks: The Greater Good" (2015).
Personal Life[edit | edit source]
Harington married his "Game of Thrones" co-star Rose Leslie in June 2018. The couple announced the birth of their first child, a son, in February 2021.
