Kittson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2010 census, the population was 4,552. Its county seat is Hallock. It is named after Canadian fur trader and railroad entrepreneur Norman Kittson. The county was officially organized on February 25, 1879, having been part of the Pembina District prior to that time. The terrain of Kittson County is largely flat, devoted to agriculture. The Red River flows northward along the county's western border.
