Knute Carl Buehler (born August 1, 1964) is an American physician and politician. He is known for his work as an orthopedic surgeon and his involvement in Oregon politics. Buehler has been a member of the Republican Party and has run for several political offices in Oregon.

Early life and education

Knute Buehler was born in Roseburg, Oregon. He grew up in a working-class family and attended local schools. Buehler excelled academically and went on to attend Oregon State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. He was a member of the university's baseball team and was recognized for his leadership skills.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Buehler was awarded a prestigious Rhodes Scholarship, which allowed him to study at the University of Oxford in England. At Oxford, he earned a Master of Arts degree in Politics and Economics. Following his time in the United Kingdom, Buehler returned to the United States to pursue a medical degree at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Buehler completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. He specialized in sports medicine and joint replacement surgery. Political career

Buehler's political career began when he ran for the office of Oregon Secretary of State in 2012.
