Knute Buehler
Knute Buehler is an American physician, politician, and businessman. He is a member of the Republican Party and has been involved in various political campaigns and public service roles in the state of Oregon.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Knute Buehler was born in Roseburg, Oregon. He attended Oregon State University, where he earned a degree in microbiology. Following his undergraduate studies, Buehler attended Merton College, Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, earning a degree in philosophy, politics, and economics. He then completed his medical degree at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
Medical Career[edit | edit source]
Buehler is an orthopedic surgeon and has practiced medicine in Bend, Oregon. He has been involved in various medical organizations and has contributed to advancements in orthopedic surgery.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Buehler's political career began with his candidacy for Oregon Secretary of State in 2012. Although he did not win the election, he continued to be active in politics. In 2014, Buehler was elected to the Oregon House of Representatives, representing the 54th district, which includes Bend, Oregon.
In 2018, Buehler ran for Governor of Oregon as the Republican nominee. He campaigned on issues such as healthcare reform, education, and economic development. Despite a vigorous campaign, he was defeated by the incumbent governor, Kate Brown.

In addition to his medical and political careers, Buehler has been involved in various business ventures. He has served on the boards of several companies and has been active in the entrepreneurial community in Oregon.
Personal Life[edit | edit source]
Knute Buehler is married and has two children. He resides in Bend, Oregon.
