Robert Koch[edit | edit source]
Robert Koch (1843–1910) was a German physician and microbiologist. As the founder of modern bacteriology, he is known for his role in identifying the specific causative agents of tuberculosis, cholera, and anthrax and for giving experimental support for the concept of infectious disease. For this work, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1905.
Koch's Postulates[edit | edit source]
Koch's postulates are four criteria designed to establish a causative relationship between a microbe and a disease. The postulates were formulated by Robert Koch and Friedrich Loeffler in 1884, based on earlier concepts described by Jakob Henle, and refined and published by Koch in 1890.

Koch (film) is a 2012 documentary film directed by Neil Barsky about former New York City Mayor Ed Koch. The film premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival on October 8, 2012 and was later released theatrically in the United States on February 1, 2013.

Koch (boat) is a type of Arctic boat. The Koch was developed by the Russian Pomors in the 11th century, when they started settling along the White Sea shores.
Koch Snowflake[edit | edit source]
The Koch snowflake is a mathematical curve and one of the earliest fractal curves to have been described. It is based on the Koch curve, which appeared in a 1904 paper titled "On a continuous curve without tangents, constructible from elementary geometry" by the Swedish mathematician Helge von Koch.
