Krishnananda Saraswati (1922–2001) was a prominent Hindu monk and a highly respected spiritual teacher in the 20th century. He was a senior monk of the Sivananda Ashram in Rishikesh, India, and a disciple of Swami Sivananda, a major figure in the modern Hindu renaissance. Krishnananda Saraswati's teachings and writings on yoga, Vedanta, and spirituality have been influential in spreading the knowledge of Hindu philosophy and practices to a global audience.

Krishnananda Saraswati was born in 1922 in South India. From a young age, he showed an inclination towards spirituality and philosophy. His quest for spiritual knowledge led him to the Sivananda Ashram in Rishikesh, where he met Swami Sivananda. Recognizing the young man's potential, Sivananda initiated him into the monastic order, giving him the name Krishnananda.

As a monk, Krishnananda Saraswati dedicated his life to the study and teaching of Vedanta and other Hindu scriptures.
