Lake Charles
Lake Charles is a city located in the U.S. state of Louisiana, specifically in Calcasieu Parish. It is the fifth-largest incorporated city in the state and serves as a major industrial, cultural, and educational center in the southwest region of Louisiana.

Lake Charles was founded in 1861 and incorporated as a city in 1867. The city was named after Charles Sallier, a Frenchman who settled in the area in the late 18th century. The city's history is rich with cultural influences from the French, Spanish, and American Indian cultures.
