Lawrence Flick State Hospital was a state mental health hospital located near Cresson, Pennsylvania. It was originally established as the Cresson Tuberculosis Sanatorium in 1916, thanks to a land donation by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. The sanatorium provided treatment for tuberculosis patients, taking advantage of the fresh air and specialized treatments available at the time. However, as new drugs and treatments for tuberculosis emerged, the need for sanatoriums declined.

In December 1956, the facility was incorporated into the Lawrence F. Flick State Hospital, which focused on treating the mentally retarded. The hospital remained in operation until December 1982. After its closure, the facility was converted into a prison and renamed State Correctional Institution – Cresson, which operated until 2013.

Today, the former Lawrence Flick State Hospital site serves as a memorial for the deceased patients, with their graves transformed into a memorial outside the facility. The memorial is maintained by the Department of Corrections Maintenance Employees and inmates at the facility.
