Laza ristovski

Laza Ristovski (23 January 1956 – 6 October 2007) was a prominent Serbian keyboardist and composer. He was best known for his work with the rock bands Smak and Bijelo Dugme.

Laza Ristovski was born in Novi Pazar, Yugoslavia. He showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at a young age. Ristovski attended the University of Arts in Belgrade, where he studied music.

Smak[edit | edit source]

Ristovski joined the band Smak in the mid-1970s. His innovative keyboard playing contributed significantly to the band's sound, and he played on several of their albums, including Crna dama and Stranice našeg vremena.

Bijelo Dugme[edit | edit source]

In 1976, Ristovski joined Bijelo Dugme, one of the most popular rock bands in the former Yugoslavia. He played on the albums Eto! Baš hoću! and Bitanga i princeza. His work with Bijelo Dugme helped to solidify his reputation as one of the leading keyboardists in the region.

Ristovski also pursued a solo career, releasing several albums that showcased his skills as a composer and keyboardist. His solo works include Merge and 2/3.

Laza Ristovski was married and had two children. He was known for his dedication to music and his influence on the rock scene in the former Yugoslavia.

Ristovski passed away on 6 October 2007 in Belgrade, Serbia, after a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
