League City is a city located in the southeastern part of the state of Texas, United States. It is situated within Galveston County and is considered a part of the Houston metropolitan area. With a population of 106,244 as of 2020, League City is one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas.

League City was founded in 1873 by J.C. League, a local rancher and entrepreneur. Originally a small farming community, the city experienced significant growth in the late 20th century due to its proximity to Houston and the expansion of the aerospace industry in the area. Today, League City is known for its thriving economy, excellent schools, and high quality of life.

League City covers a total area of 53.0 square miles, of which 51.5 square miles is land and 1.5 square miles is water. The city is located on the southeastern shores of Clear Lake, a large brackish bay connected to the Gulf of Mexico. League City's elevation is approximately 10 feet above sea level.
